The Hawaiian Steel Guitar Showcase™ presents livestreamed performances featuring your favorite steel guitar masters, available in both live and prerecorded formats via the Internet. You can access these livestreams from this website as well as the Showcase’s Facebook Page. Some streams may also be available on alternate sites or shared by viewers.
Types of Livestream Broadcasts
Several categories of livestream broadcasts have been developed, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic, to extend the reach of Hawaiian steel guitar while live festivals were paused:
- Livestream Steel Guitar Saturday: Enjoy live concerts featuring steel guitar masters, along with prerecorded videos of NextGen steel guitarists in a dynamic two-hour program.
- Livestream Kanikapila Showcase: Participate in two hours of live virtual kanikapila, where you can grab your favorite instrument and play along with an all-star band.
- Open Stage Showcase: This segment features prerecorded videos submitted by amateur and professional steel guitarists worldwide, showcasing their performances. - Festival Showcases: These broadcasts highlight various live Hawaiian Steel Guitar festival Ho‘olaule‘a programs produced by HIMELE in the State of Hawai‘i.

The Hawaiian Steel Guitar Showcases are presented free to the public by the Hawaii Institute for Music Enrichment and Learning Experiences (HIMELE).
