The Metallica music group had to lose guitarist Dave Mustaine, after a major feud occurred some time before a short tour in 1983. As a result, a new guitar player had to be recruited and James Hetfield and Lars Ulrich, as band members, decided to use the name Kirk Hammett.

However, there is an interesting story regarding Kirk Hammett’s recruitment process to participate in the Metallica band. The guitarist conveyed this directly in an interview with rock music media Metal Hammer in 2014, and has never been published until now.
