Md Shahrulhadi bin Salilholdin@Salilhaldin or better known as Shahrul Ekamatra was born on 12 June 1972 (age 51) in Batu Pahat and grew up in Kota Tinggi, Johor. He is the lead guitar player of the Ekamatra group which made its name after winning the Juara Rock Johor and Juara Rock Johor Tengah competitions around 1986 to 1988. He is also the brother to the second guitar player of Ekamatra group, Md Nurulazman or better known as Nurul.

Born into a family that has artistic blood, Shahrul’s presence shocked the Indonesian music industry because of his extraordinary skill in playing guitar, especially in the song Pusara Di Lebuhraya and Ekamatra Instrumental even though he was only 16 years old at the time. This has placed him as one of the best guitarists in Malaysia today in line with other great guitarists such as Kid Search, Man Kidal, Along Exists, Shah Slam, Izo XPDC, Joe Wings and others.

Together with Ekamatra, he has a killer album called Satu Tekanan Irama that showcases his professional guitar playing such as in Ekamatra Instrumental, Pusara Di Lebuhraya, Hanya Satu Persinggahan, Mimpi Fantasi, and Sentuhan Kecundang. Most of the songs in Satu Tekanan Irama album were composed by the members of the group themselves, especially Shahrul and Rahmat.
