Paul Gilbert, a renowned guitarist, gained recognition through his band Mr. Big, whose successful record elevated his status in the rock music world. At the age of 17, Paul astounded the guitar community as the fastest player in the world while in the band Racer X. He began playing the guitar at the age of 5 and caught the attention of producer Mike Varney in 1981, leading to an opportunity to showcase his talent alongside Tony Macalpine.
Moving to Los Angeles in 1984, Paul continued his guitar studies at the Guitar Institute of Technology and later became an instructor at the prestigious institution. Joining Racer X in 1986, Paul released albums such as “Street Lethal,” “Second Heat,” and “Live! Extreme Volume.” In 1989, he left Racer X and joined Mr. Big, leading to the release of the self-titled album and subsequent albums like “Lean into It” and “Bump Ahead.” Paul also released solo albums such as “Flying Dog” and “Beehive Live,” and visited Indonesia for promotional tours. His Indonesian fans appreciated his presence, as many American artists hesitated due to concerns about certain groups.
