Nuno Bettencourt is highly regarded as one of the best rock guitarists, particularly for his exceptional rhythm playing. His creativity in developing new techniques has been well recognized since his early days with the band Extreme and their albums “Extreme” and “Pornograffitti.” Nuno’s goal is to create funk-inspired albums, similar to bands like Pearl Jam and Nirvana.

For those interested in hearing his shredding skills, the album “Pornograffitti” is recommended.While his solo albums and new band Mourning Widows do not showcase his guitar playing prowess, his first album, “Extreme,” and third album, “Three Side Story,” are still highly regarded. Extreme formed in 1982 when Nuno met lead singer Gary Cherone, and they gained attention with their hit “Mutha.” The band went on to win awards and release several albums before parting ways. However, Nuno’s subsequent albums have not emphasized his instrumental skills, disappointing some fans.
