The Nairobi Guitar Festival 2023 marked a milestone for Kenya’s growing music culture. On July 16, 2023, the inaugural edition took place at Alliance Française in Nairobi, running from 2:00 to 6:00 PM. What made this festival unique was the way it connected classroom learning with stage performance. Many of the performers had previously served as facilitators in Nairobi’s guitar workshops, and the festival gave them the opportunity to showcase their original works before a live audience.
