Mike Stern (born 1953, USA) is a jazz fusion guitarist known for blending rock energy with jazz improvisation. He rose to fame in the early 1980s as a member of Miles Davis’s comeback band, where his fiery solos stood out.

His solo career soon followed with albums like Upside Downside (1986) and Time in Place (1988). These works showed his mix of bebop lines and distorted tones. Stern’s music often bridges jazz, funk, and rock, making him popular with diverse audiences.
