Four years old was the beginning of his introduction to music. He transitioned from keyboard to electric guitar and all the way to acoustic string guitar. Unfortunately, at the time when he started to love the guitar, Dawes suffered from tendinitis which made him have to stop playing guitar for some time.
The British singer became known to netizens after he performed a cover of Gotye’s Somebody That I Used To Know. His solo performance was nicely composed. Even Titanium sounds easy listening after he covers after the popularity of Gotye’s song.
His guitar playing is now no longer bothered by tendinitis. Dawes is free to play acoustic guitar with the technique. Now Dawes performs many concerts with other fingerstyle guitarists such as Michael Hedges.
