Anthrax guitarist Scott Ian recalled taking part in the “Big Four” tour alongside Metallica, Megadeth, and Slayer, recalling the moment when Lars Ulrich & Co. extended the invitation to his band.

Arriving at a time when old-school metal was (yet again) at a crossroads, the “Big Four” tour, staged by Metallica, casually walked into heavy music history as the four cornerstone bands of thrash metal toured the US and Europe for the first time together. In the past, Scott Ian has been pretty transparent about the subject, noting how Anthrax may not have continued in this capacity had the “Big Four” not happened.
