The third annual Kona Steel Guitar Festival took place at the Outrigger Kona Resort and Spa in Keauhou from February 27 to March 1, 2025. This festival was held just before the annual Aloha Music Camp at the same venue. Keauhou, Hawai‘i, is located in the Kona area of Hawai‘i Island.
The Kona Steel Guitar Festival brought the Hawaiian steel guitar experience to Keauhou, roughly a half-hour from the Kona airport. It also offered Aloha Music Camp participants a chance to enjoy this unique experience, especially for those who previously attended the Camp when it was held on Kaua‘i. As in previous years, the festival was scheduled in the days leading up to the Aloha Music Camp.
This event was presented free to the public by the Hawaii Institute for Music Enrichment and Learning Experiences (HIMELE) and the Outrigger Kona Resort and Spa, in collaboration with the Ke Kula Mele Hawai‘i School of Hawaiian Music.
