Jopie Item is an Indonesian musician and arranger. He is a senior guitar player. At only 14 years old, he has often changed bands, including Gita Rama, Ayodhia, Kwartet Bintang, The Galaxi, Buana Suara, The Disc, Baby Face, Band 4 Nada, and Jopie Item Band.

In 1966, he played on stage with American instrumental group The Ventures as the opening band during his time at Ayodhia. He has accompanied dozens of singers, such as Deddy Damhudy, Anna Mathovani, Yatni Ardi, Vivi Sumanti, and Emillia Contessa, and traveled to several countries, including Singapore and Malaysia.

His presence demonstrating his beloved Fender Stratocaster guitar was mesmerizing with his group, “Eka Sapta” who triumphed in the 60s. His presence in collaboration with Jack Lesmana Combo paved the way for him to excel with Oele Pattisellano, Perry Pattisellano, Didi Tjia and even Karim Suweileh, Jacky, and Wempy Tanasale in jazz music.
