guitarist John Paul Ivan (43) plans to release a solo album. In addition, he also wants each song in the album to be complete with a videoclip. “So, the album will be released as a CD and DVD at the same time. The title of the album is Six Senses,” Ivan said on his way from Bandung, West Java, to Jakarta to perform at a television station a few days ago. Since almost three years ago, the guitarist who is familiarly called JPI has lived in the Flower City, in the Padasuka area. According to Ivan, the solo album was his wish for a long time. The album is also to document his works that were originally released as singles, such as “A Time To Remember” and “New Year”. His singles have been released since 2008 in digital form and can be downloaded from music portals on the internet.
Ivan, who has been seriously pursuing the guitar since the age of 15, initially joined the Surabaya-based rock band Boomerang. After leaving Boomerang in 2005, Ivan founded the band Trio JPI. Since 2012, Ivan and former Boomerang vocalist Roy Jeconiah formed a band called RI 1 (Roy Ivan Satu). (TIA)
