Joe Satriani, first learned the guitar when he was 14 years old. At the age of 15, Joe was already teaching guitar (for 3 years) to several of his students, including Steve Vai, Kirk Hammet (Metallica) and Larry LaLonde (Primus). You can imagine how diligently and quickly Joe studied his guitar playing.

While teaching at Second Hand Guitar, Berklee, Joe released his first album in 1986 entitled Not Of This Earth. The following year, Surfing With The Alien was released and achieved gold and platinum sales.
