Hollow Body & Semi Hollow Guitar

The fourth type of guitar is the hollow body and semi-hollow guitar. This is a type of electric guitar. The difference between a hollow body and a semi-hollow guitar can be seen in the internal cavity of the guitar body.

Semi-hollow guitars usually have a block passing through the body under the pickups and bridge as described above. Hollow body guitars do not have this bar. Hollow body guitars are very prone to feedback and don’t work well with high-power pickups and amps.

Playing one of these guitars wirelessly produces an acoustic guitar-like tone. When Grameds plugs in a semi-hollow guitar, you’ll hear somewhere between a regular electric guitar and an acoustic guitar. The tone is more electric than acoustic, but you can hear the acoustic quality.

The tone is smooth and has a unique sound that can’t be heard on a solid-body electric guitar. Hollow body guitars were popular in the 1930s and 1950s, and later semi-hollow guitars became popular when amps became available to guitarists. Old blues, jazz, early rock and roll, rockabilly, and similar styles typically use semi-hollow guitars.

The average price for hollow and semi-hollow body guitars in the market for 2022 is around 1 million to 5 million for standard quality.
