HIZAKI, a guitarist from Hokkaido with blood type A, is one of the most iconic figures in the visual kei scene. His band history traces an impressive journey: GARNET GRAVE → Crack Brain → Grotesque Romanticker → Schwardix Marvally → BURNING FIRE → SULFURIC ACID → HIZAKI Grace Project → Versailles → Jupiter.

Known for his striking beauty—often compared to onnagata in Kabuki and performers in the Takarazuka Revue—HIZAKI has redefined the role of image in visual kei. In a genre where makeup can elevate or overshadow, he created a balance of elegance and allure that won fans both in Japan and across Europe and the Americas. His transformation from lighter makeup in his early years to a bold, dramatic style during the SULFURIC ACID and Versailles era marked the evolution of his stage persona.

Musically, HIZAKI blends classical influences with the precision of technical metal. His guitar work features distinctive phrasing and compositions that reflect deep musical understanding. Influenced by X JAPAN, LOUDNESS, Yngwie Malmsteen, and Dream Theater, he has built a style that merges virtuosity with creativity.

Since co-founding Versailles with Kamijo, HIZAKI has continued to showcase his musicianship, visual artistry, and emotional connection with fans. Today, through his work with Jupiter, he remains one of visual kei’s most admired and respected guitarists, leaving a legacy that bridges both sound and image.
