The Fuji Rock Festival is Japan’s largest outdoor music event, held every summer at Naeba Ski Resort in Niigata. It features over 200 Japanese and international artists across multiple stages and attracts more than 100,000 visitors. First launched in 1997 near Mount Fuji, the festival moved to Naeba in 1999, where it became known for its forested setting, eco-friendly initiatives, camping options, and late-night activities.
Despite its storm-plagued debut, Fuji Rock has grown into one of the world’s most renowned music festivals. The 2025 edition, held from July 25–27, drew 122,000 attendees and featured headliners such as Fred Again, Vulfpeck, and Vampire Weekend.
