The Scorpions enjoyed their biggest commercial success from the early ’80s through the early ’90s, thanks to such headbanging-yet-melodic rockers as “No One Like You” and “Rock You Like a Hurricane,” as well as the power ballad “Wind of Change”. But it was their ’70s recordings that saw the band at their heaviest and most ferocious – thanks in large part to the guitar work of Uli Jon Roth, who was merging classical and Jimi stylings years before Yngwie came along.

And although he has been playing his own uniquely shaped/signature Sky Guitars since the ’80s, back in his Scorpions days (he was a member from 1973-1978), he stuck with the classics – as he recounted to me in the 2016 book, “German Metal Machine: Scorpions in the ’70s”.
