Edoardo Catemario (born September 25, 1965, Naples) is one of Italy’s most acclaimed classical guitarists. He began studying at age five and gave his first recital at eleven. Guided by teachers such as Salvatore Canino, José Tomás, Maria Luisa Anido, and Leo Brouwer, he developed both technical brilliance and expressive depth.
Catemario has performed in prestigious venues including Vienna’s Musikverein, Madrid’s Auditorio Nacional, London’s Royal Academy of Music, New York’s Carnegie Hall, and Paris’s Cité de la Musique. His repertoire spans Baroque, Romantic, and contemporary works, often performed on historic guitars crafted by Garcia, Simplicio, Ramírez, and Viudes. These instruments add authenticity and character to his interpretations, particularly of Romantic and Baroque pieces.
