An abbreviated Maui Steel Guitar Festival took place on Saturday, October 19, at The Shops at Wailea. Given the ongoing wildfire rebuilding efforts on the island, HIMELE decided that a smaller event would be most appropriate this year.

Looking ahead, HIMELE aims to host a full multi-day festival in 2025, returning to its original venue, the Outrigger Ka‘anapali Beach Resort, or a similar location, along with a Sunday concert at The Shops at Wailea.
The Maui Steel Guitar Festival was presented free to the public by the Hawaii Institute for Music Enrichment and Learning Experiences (HIMELE) and The Shops at Wailea, in collaboration with the Ke Kula Mele Hawai‘i School of Hawaiian Music. Additional support was provided by the Royal Hawaiian Center and the Festival Companies. For more information about our supporters and sponsors, please visit the Support Us page.
We look forward to celebrating the rich tradition of Hawaiian steel guitar with everyone in the near future!
