Delcamp 2026 International Guitar Competition

Rules

The Delcamp 2026 International Guitar Competition is an online event hosted on the Delcamp Classical Guitar Forum. Specifically designed for intermediate-level amateurs, this competition provides a platform for guitarists to showcase their skills in a structured and fair environment.

Competition Structure

Compulsory Pieces

Participants must perform three pieces composed by Jean-François Delcamp.

Phases & Timeline

The competition consists of three phases, running from February 1 to February 28, 2026.

Eligibility

  • Open to adult guitarists of all nationalities registered on the forum.
  • Previous prize winners are not eligible to enter again.

Registration Process

How to Register

  1. Register for the English-language forum.
  2. Post a message in reply to the registration thread using the following format:
    “Hello everyone, I’m an adult and I’m entering the 2026 session of the Delcamp International Guitar Competition.”

Important Registration Details

  • Deadline: October 31, 2025.
  • If fewer than 20 participants register, the competition will be postponed to the following year.
  • Candidates may use a pseudonym or their real name, but finalists must display their real names on the forum.

Video Recording Guidelines

Technical Requirements

  • The video must show the full vibrating length of the guitar strings (from nut to bridge).
  • A fixed camera shot is required—no movement or panning.
  • For the final round, candidates’ faces must be visible.

Submission Rules

  • Only public YouTube videos are accepted (private/unlisted videos will be disqualified).
  • Only the specified editions of the compulsory pieces by Delcamp are allowed.

Competition Rounds

Elimination Round

  • Timing: Submit videos between February 1 (00:00 GMT) and February 3 (24:00 GMT), 2026.
  • Piece: J. F. Delcamp: Rue des trois frères, opus 6.
  • Submission Message:
    “Hello everyone, here’s my YouTube video recording, showing the full vibrating length of my guitar strings. My recording is made without any tricks or editing.”
  • Results Announcement: February 10.

Semi-Final Round

  • Timing: Submit videos between February 10 (00:00 GMT) and February 12 (24:00 GMT), 2026.
  • Piece: J. F. Delcamp: Prélude, opus 40.
  • Submission Message: Same format as the elimination round.
  • Results Announcement: February 19.

Final Round

  • Further details will be provided only to finalists after the semi-final results.
