Renowned for blending folk, rock, jazz, and world influences with deeply poetic lyrics, Cockburn has built a career that spans over five decades and continues to inspire audiences around the world.

Cockburn grew up in Ottawa, Ontario, where he began playing guitar in his teens. He studied at the Berklee College of Music in Boston before returning to Canada in the late 1960s to pursue a professional career. His self-titled debut album in 1970 showcased his intricate acoustic guitar style and introspective lyrics, earning him early recognition as a thoughtful and gifted songwriter.
