The Bali Virtuoso Guitar Performance, held on March 27, 2016, at Bentara Budaya Bali, featured leading Indonesian and international classical musicians. Guitarists Lianto Tjahjoputro, Intan Mayadewi, Wayan Astrajaya, and violinist Robert Brown performed works by Paganini, Liszt, de Falla, Albéniz, Bach, and Schubert. The event also included the Pagelaran Gitar Kolosal Rakyat Indonesia (PGKRI), which brought together dozens of young guitarists.
Each performer contributed rich musical expertise: Lianto is an acclaimed guitarist and arranger recognized worldwide; Intan is both a guitarist and soprano with international training; Astrajaya is active as a conductor and guitarist; while Brown has extensive orchestral experience in the U.S. and Europe and has made significant contributions to Indonesia’s music scene. The concert of Bali Virtuoso Guitar showcased both virtuosity and collaboration, highlighting the growth of Indonesia’s young classical guitar community.
