
Satoshi Izumi (born August 8, 1978, in Chiba Prefecture) is a Japanese guitarist known for his versatile work in jazz, rock, and anime soundtracks. He began playing guitar at the age of ten, inspired by his father. After performing in school and at live gigs, he collaborated with saxophonists Ho Sato and Shigeo Fuchino. In his twenties, he joined the group of jazz organist KANKAWA.
As both a band member and session musician, Izumi has supported artists such as Maki Asakawa, Philip Woo, and Fayray. He also formed the projects Electric Star and PO YONGIN with Katsuhito Teshirogi.
In 2006, Izumi joined Yuji Ohno & Lupintic Five, contributing to the Lupin the Third anime soundtracks. Later, with Lupintic Six, his rock-influenced guitar style helped shape the series’ theme songs. Since 2009, he has also performed as a guitar duo with Haruo Kubota. In 2012, he received the Encouragement Award at the 11th Chiba City Arts and Culture Newcomer Awards.
